On Wednesday, May 30, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the Student Lounge, Wilson Middle School students (grades 5-8) will read samples of their original poetry or prose from their work in Language Arts or Writing Workshop classes. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

End of the Year Pool Party
On Friday, June 1, PK4-8th grade students are invited to a
end-of-year Pool Party! From 12:20-2:00 pm Grades PK4 through 2nd will enjoy a
snack on our new patio, after which they will go swimming with their classmates! Grades 3-8 can swim and relax from 2:00-3:30pm following the TREP$ meeting.
Student Spotlights (May 20th 2012)
Congratulations to Nicholas (5th Grade) and Julius (4th Grade) were both
accepted to the NJIT Early College Preparatory Program and each received a
scholarship. On May 6, Julius won the gold medal at the Cecilian Music Award
Competition for Solo Piano performance, and he will perform on May 20 at the
Winner’s Recital.
Congratulations to Tim (’08 graduate) upon his acceptance to Loyola University,
Fairfield University, University of Scranton, Roger Williams University and St.
Michael’s College. Tim has chosen to attend Loyola.
Mathleague.org Contest Photos

5th and 6th grade math teams had a great time. Thank you, Mr. Lippe, for staying
behind to bring back all the test results.

Congrats Channel Swimmers!
Mrs. Miller wishes to congratulate all of our swimmers on their accomplishments
during Channel Swim! She also thanks Ms. Everett and Ms. Tralle for their
assistance leading up to the awards. Certificates for a free kid’s ice cream sundae
at Applebee’s are available in the front lobby on the publications table. Please feel
free to take some if you plan to enjoy a meal there any time soon.
The swim program is in need of gently-used swimsuits to have on hand
for “borrowing.” Please send in any suits (boy’s/girl’s all sizes) you no longer need.

The MS Oratory Final Competition will take place on Tuesday, May 8, at 9 am in the Auditorium. Parents are welcome to attend.

Parents are invited to attend a special program by the Lakeland Symphony Youth
Orchestra on Friday, May 4, at 10:10 am in the Auditorium.
Student Spotlights (May 2nd 2012)
Congratulations to Alain (7th Grade) for his high scores on the ACT test, which
is given to high school students applying to college. Alain is now eligible to take
courses offered by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Great job!
Katelyn (’08 Graduate) was selected to present her painting of the Capitol Building
at the 11th Congressional District Arts Competition at the Morris Museum this
week. On May 10, she will be receiving an Arts Award from the Sussex County Arts
and Heritage Council for the category of fine arts. She was a first place winner
last year and continues to enjoy developing her passion for the arts since attending
The Wilson School.
