Mrs. Miller wishes to congratulate all of our swimmers on their accomplishments
during Channel Swim! She also thanks Ms. Everett and Ms. Tralle for their
assistance leading up to the awards. Certificates for a free kid’s ice cream sundae
at Applebee’s are available in the front lobby on the publications table. Please feel
free to take some if you plan to enjoy a meal there any time soon.

The swim program is in need of gently-used swimsuits to have on hand
for “borrowing.” Please send in any suits (boy’s/girl’s all sizes) you no longer need.
Thanks!

January is Water and Boating Safety month!  Students have been learning about
different safety precautions near the water, and have had the chance to become
familiar with different types of rescue equipment while having fun being
Middle School students had their stamina challenged by treading water.
Kandel and Eric Lippe were able to tread for over 20 minutes and could have gone
longer if not for their class period ending!  Tanner DePuyt was also a standout in his
class during this activity!

Our annual Channel Swim Event begins on February 7.  Complete information will be
coming home with next week’s News!

All parents are invited to attend the Yoga Demonstration at 2:00 pm on Thursday,
January 12 in the Auditorium. All of our students will participate in this demo.

Miss Dana requests that the students dress in:

  • black or almost-black ankle or knee length pants (leggings, yoga pants, shorts).
  • purple or almost-purple top (t-shirt, tank top, yoga top). It is important that the stomach/midriff is covered and that pants do not fall below the waist — fitted (not tight) clothing is preferred.

Please send your child’s “costume” into school this week in readiness for the demo. Feel
free to check Miss Dana’s Wilson School yoga website for clarification if needed.
Thanking you in advance for your cooperation.
